Contacts

An address book of plain cards.

Each contact is one .vcf file, keyed by its address. Mail fills it in, you and your agents edit it, and any contacts app can read it.

The files are the truth; the address book's rows are an index that follows them. A removed file takes its contact with it.

How a contact is keptA contact is one vCard 3.0 file, contacts/<email>.vcf, in the account's Drive. Mail that arrives or is sent adds or updates the card. The contacts app, the file tools and an agent write the same files. What else

People's details stay theirs.

This page shows no real contact. CommandAGI's own Drive holds 52 .vcf files in production on 2026-11-04 (case-studies/everything-is-a-file/stats.json); we count them and show none.

A phone line's card

A line can send its own contact card, a content-addressed .vcf, so a changed name is a new file.

Search and filter

Search by name, address or organisation, or by how a contact was captured: inbound, outbound, manual, agent.

Any client

A .vcf opens in the contacts app, and CardDAV gives the same cards to the phone in your pocket.

Bring your address book.

Drop your .vcf files into contacts/ and they are your contacts.
