Check the part before you make it.

A device definition states what its machine can do. The checks read the part's geometry against those limits and say where it fails, face by face.

The A3 engineering drawing of Router-001's dust shoe port: front, right, top and isometric views at 1:2 with their dimensions (102, 100, R47), a hole table with one Ø94 through hole, and a title block naming PETG, 152.38 g and ISO 2768-c.
The dust shoe port of Router-001, drawn by the 3D design service from its file. The print checks read the same part.

Case study 1 · a printed part

The port prints, with supports in four places.

Router-001's dust shoe port, PETG, checked against the Creality Ender-3 V3 SE. The limits come from the printer's definition, which takes them from its own slicer profile. The air turns 90° inside the part, so some faces point down in any pose on the bed. Each finding names its B-rep faces and a point in the part's frame, so the editor paints them. The part's file already says it is printed with supports.

Two checks answer unknown, not pass: the printer's definition states no longest bridge (the part has one of 79.6 mm) and no smallest hole (it has a Ø94 mm bore). A check with no limit never passes.

Case study 2 · a milled part

The Z plate is too long for a 3018 router.

Router-001's Z plate is 6061-T6 aluminium, 460 × 180 × 15 mm. Checked against a 3018 desktop router, every feature passes but one: the plate is 160 mm longer than the machine's travel. Its drawing names a waterjet, not this router.

Name the machine, and the checks read its limits from its definition. A finding that fails points at the faces to change.
